Business interruption loss and damages quantification
We have extensive experience in the analysis and quantification of damages and loss of value in a dispute context, including insured and uninsured commercial business interruption, expropriation, breach of contract, personal injury, wrongful death and inventory theft or damage, both as expert and arbiter.
Business valuation
We have valued businesses in a wide range of industries. We bring an analytical and practical mindset to the practice of business and asset valuation, as well as an ability to explain technical concepts to our clients in simple, easy to grasp terms. We enjoy analyzing complicated valuation problems as well as the challenge of articulating the impact of that analysis in clear, plain language. With more than 55 combined years in professional accounting and expert witness experience in Court, we are more than happy to assist clients in non-dispute related matters such as shareholder re-organizations for income tax, succession or buyout purposes.
Investigative & forensic accounting
Over the years, we have investigated and quantified losses relating to fraud and misappropriation, in both personal and corporate schemes, in a variety of industries. Paul enjoys melding his strong analytical, investigative and interviewing skills with his training in psychology, bringing a unique understanding of both “the numbers” and the human condition. Suzanna has been an active investor and business person since her teenage years and brings practical “street smarts” to her investigative assignments.
We have detected and quantified losses due to misappropriation in a wide range of schemes, involving losses from the tens of thousands of dollars to the millions. Paul has on numerous occasions identified documents which have been fabricated or altered in an attempt to mislead the reader. We also assist clients in need of improved internal control procedures to give them greater comfort that their assets are protected from theft.
